Key Responsibilities
Hospitality Marketing
- Develop and implement an innovative marketing strategy to increase
occupancy and revenue.
- Grow the visibility of Gender Links Cottages across digital and
traditional marketing platforms.
- Manage and optimise all social media platforms, including Facebook,
Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Google Business Profile, and other relevant
channels.
- Create engaging content, including videos, reels, photography,
newsletters, blogs, and promotional campaigns.
- Monitor online reviews and proactively manage the cottages' online
reputation.
- Identify new marketing opportunities and partnerships to grow the business.
- Benchmark competitors and recommend innovative hospitality marketing initiatives.
Business Development
- Market accommodation, conferencing, events, and meeting facilities
to corporate clients, NGOs, government, universities, and the tourism
sector.
- Develop relationships with travel agents, event planners, tour
operators, and corporate clients.
- Identify new markets and business opportunities to increase
revenue.
- Promote special offers, packages, and seasonal campaigns.
Administration and
Operations
Working closely with the Cottages Manager, the
successful candidate will assist with:
- Guest bookings and reservations.
- Reception and customer enquiries.
- Conference and event coordination.
- Client communication before, during, and after their stay.
- Preparation of quotations and invoices.
- General administration and reporting.
Data Analysis and Reporting
The successful candidate will be expected to
demonstrate the effectiveness of marketing activities through regular reporting
by:
- Monitoring website traffic and social media analytics.
- Tracking enquiries, bookings, occupancy rates, and revenue
generated through marketing initiatives.
- Producing weekly and monthly marketing performance reports.
- Using Excel dashboards and other analytical tools to demonstrate
return on investment (ROI) and recommend improvements.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Hospitality Management, Tourism,
Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3–5 years' experience in hospitality marketing,
tourism marketing, hotel operations, or a similar environment.
- Proven experience in digital marketing and social media management.
- Strong photography, video creation, and content development skills.
- Excellent report writing and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience using booking systems and online travel platforms (e.g.
Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia) will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A valid driver's licence will be an added advantage.
- Authorised to work in South Africa.
