Work Hours: This is a full-time role based on a 40-hour working week. Given the nature of the work, flexibility in working hours is essential, although these will generally align with a 40-hour work week.
Travel Requirements: Be willing and able to travel locally and internationally, as required.
CONTEXT
SANCCOB, a globally recognised leader in seabird conservation, is seeking to employ a full-time Resource Developer (Fundraiser) to join the Resource Development team in Table View, Cape Town.
The Resource Developer (Fundraiser) is responsible for developing, implementing and growing a diverse portfolio of fundraising and stakeholder engagement initiatives that contribute to SANCCOB's long-term financial sustainability. The role focuses on acquiring, stewarding and retaining individual donors, legacy supporters, members, zoos and aquariums, while strengthening strategic partnerships and expanding sustainable income streams. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for delivering high-quality donor communications, managing portfolio-specific campaigns and events, overseeing key fundraising publications and digital platforms, and ensuring exceptional donor stewardship.
POSITION
Reporting to the Head of Resource Development, the Resource Developer (Fundraiser) is responsible and accountable for the management, performance and growth of a designated fundraising portfolio. The successful candidate will take ownership of all aspects of their portfolio, including acquiring new donors, retaining and strengthening existing relationships, and scaling sustainable income and engagement across their donor portfolio.
The role is responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies and campaigns, delivering exceptional donor stewardship, securing new funding opportunities, and ensuring that fundraising, marketing and communication activities are effectively integrated to achieve portfolio objectives. The incumbent will also oversee donor communications, reporting, events, website content, monitoring and data management within their portfolio, ensuring income targets are achieved and supporters receive an outstanding experience.
